Hawaii Tea Club Launches In Style

Oolalah! An Afternoon of Oolongs marked the successful launch of the Hawaii Tea Club.  Leading the presentation was Taiwan Tea Ambassador Thomas Shu, in Hawaii with his wife Josephine.  Participants “oo’d” and “ah’d” its way through a flight of 6 premium Taiwan oolongs.  Memorable highlights included the luscious fruit notes of Oriental Beauty, the floral bouquet of Wenshan Pouchong and the creamy smoothness of a classic high altitude Jade Oolong.

For the majority of participants, this was their first cupping experience.  However, connoisseurs familiar with oolong culture were also in attendance.   At the end of the 2 hour presentation, it was unanimous that all 23 attendees were pleased, learned alot from the experience and want to meet again.

The Hawaii Tea Club is a community of enthusiasts who want to learn more about camellia sinesis and its international cultures.  For information and to be added to the club’s mailing list, send an email to HawaiiTeaClub@gmail.com.

About The Leaf Lover
Aloha, my name is Byron Goo. I started our company in 1995 in my garage. Tea has taken me all over the world since then and I continue to be a student of the leaf and of life. The Leaf Lover is a way for me to share about my passion for tea and our small business. I wear many hats including CEO of the company but I think of myself simply as a tea maker.
